optimism/squirrel/absurd was a "solo" album recorded with the help of nag, igor, giblet, mark perry, dennis burns, and others including vicky bonnett, susi allender, tony clough and david morgan - these last four became part of the first casual labourers line up.
the album was issued on cassette and attributed to "bendle". after the band got going later copies were attributed to "bendle and the casual labourers".
some of the album sounds pretty awful to me now, so originally i just uploaded what seemed like the best bits here, but in response to requests for the rest of the album i have now uploaded the
